It all started years ago, as an exploration for the irreverent, the mischievous, the improvised, the unexpected.
Even back then, its playful personality was already present—full of attitude, and clearly breaking the mould. But it was stuck to a simple groove: a touch condensed here, a little expanded there. Just enough to set the mood.
Some time later, we revisited the project and came the remix. That’s when we asked ourselves: What if this thing could swing harder?
That’s how the idea came up: to add extreme masters and make it suuuuper wide—and even more suuuuper condensed. Because… why not?
Of course, that meant reworking the whole system. Rethinking every note, every shape, and it turned out to be way more complex than expected—but absolutely worth it.
NoMo Sans is a one-axis variable type family with a strong but enjoyable inverted contrast. A type system full of soft curves and smooth terminals, yet sprinkled with quirky, unexpected shapes that break out and improvise.
Its groovy letterforms bring rhythm and musicality, turning every line of text into a wordmark, –that can be composed in almost any latin speech due to its wide language support–.
