An elegant and graceful script font with thicker horizontals that create a flowing rhythm — hence the name. Seashore draws inspiration from an unconventional (left-leaning) penmanship style of the late 19th century. It was primarily employed by skilled scribes for certificates and tributes, or by individuals of high society for their correspondence and invitations. This choice of script conveyed a sense of true sophistication, as it would only have been mastered after the more common business, Spencerian, and standard ornamental styles. In fact, there was such a demand for unique script styles during that era that type foundries produced an abundance of increasingly intricate metal-type imitations.
Seashore encompasses a wide array of swash capitals, alternative endings, and contextual ligatures, totaling over 900 glyphs. It is best suited for brief display applications — in names and addresses on formal invitations, in menus and food packaging, or in fashion and beauty contexts
